Milford Police Blotter: Throwing Objects at a Motor Vehicle, Larceny, Narcotics

The following arrest information was provided by the Milford Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Stanley LaFortune, 25, of Boswell Street in Stratford, was charged March 28 with second-degree failure to appear in court. According to Milford Police, LaFortune is accused of failing to appear in court on Jan. 23 for charges stemming from an arrest on Dec. 13, 2013 for motor vehicle violations in Milford. A bond amount of $1,500 was set and he is scheduled to appear in court April 22. 

Allison Colavito, 27, of Pine Wood Trail in Trumbull, and Leon Pasternak, 28, of Rogers Road in Fairfield, were charged with sixth-degree larceny and sixth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny. Pasternak was additional charged with second-degree breach of peace. According to police, officers received a complaint from Costco Wholesale Club regarding a shoplifting that occurred at the store. An investigation led to the arrest of Colavito and Pasternak, who are accused of taking three Xbox game controllers from the store without paying for them. The items were valued at $143.97. Pasternak fled on foot from the store, but was located by store employees. The two were released on a promise to appear in court April 22. 

Akshay Patel, 39, of Granite Arch, Norfolk, Va., was charged March 31 with possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia, and Christina Ryan, 35, of Rosette Street in New Haven, was charged March 31 with possession of drug paraphernalia and a defective tail lamp. According to Milford Police, officers stopped a motor vehicle operated by Ryan for a defective tail lamp on Woodmont Road. During the stop, officers found Ryan in possession of drug paraphernalia. Patel, a passenger in the car, was found in possession of crack cocaine and related drug paraphernalia, police said. They were both released on a promise to appear in court on April 29.

Robert Mahoney, 49, of Yale Avenue in Milford, was charged March 31 with fifth-degree larceny. According to Milford Police, officers received a complaint regarding a theft of construction equipment from 1391 New Haven Avenue on Jan. 30. An investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for Mahoney, who is accused of taking metal scaffolding devices valued at $684 from the renovation site — and selling them to a scrap metal recycling facility, police said. Mahoney was released on a promise to appear in court April 29.

Anthony Whitaker, 23, of Williamsburgh Drive in Bridgeport, was charged March 31 with second-degree failure to appear in court and first-degree failure to appear in court. According to police, officers took custody of Whatker regarding two outstanding warrants for his arrest. He is accused of failing to appear in court on March 26 for charges stemming from two arrests in May 2013. The arrests were for two related incidents in Milford where Whitaker is accused of five forgery offenses and criminal attempt to commit larceny that occurred in 2012. A bond amount of $2,000 was set and he is scheduled to appear in court April 29.

Vincent Edwards, 48, of Midway Avenue in Milford, was charged March 31 with second-degree criminal mischief and throwing objects at a motor vehicle. According to police, on May 22, 2013 officers received a complaint regarding vandalism to a motor vehicle on Midway Avenue. An investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for Edwards, who is accused of throwing a rock at a vehicle that was driving away from 16 Midway Avenue. Edwards was released on a promise to appear in court April 29.
