Milford Police Arrests: DWI, Sale of a Controlled Substance, Threatening

The following arrest information was provided by the Milford Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Milford Police Tactical Squad was conducting an anti-crime patrol when they reportedly observed a man acting suspiciously in a parking lot at the intersection of North Street and Boson Post Road. The officers' investigation found that Vincent Musante, 31, of Will Street in Milford, had sold a controlled substance to another person and was in possession of other narcotic medications that are controlled, as well as drug paraphernalia, police said. Musante was charged with three counts of possession of marijuana, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia two counts of possession with intent to sell and sale of a controlled substance. A bond of $10,000 was issued and he is scheduled to appear in court March 11.

Darryl Bookert, 20, of Star Street in New Haven, was charged Feb. 16 with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and threatening after police received a complaint in a home on Naugatuck Avenue. The investigation led to the arrest of Bookert, who is accused of assaulting a former companion's family member, police said. He was released on a promise to appear in court on March 11.

Katherine Banyay, 35, of Beard Place in Milford, was charged with driving while intoxicated Feb. 15 after an investigation revealed she had an elevated blood alcohol content following a motor vehicle accident on Nov. 18. Benyay sustained minor injuries during the incident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. A bond of $500 was issued and she is scheduled to appear in court March 11.

Michael Love, 20, and Dian Harris, 21, both of Parrott Avenue in Bridgeport, were charged Feb. 14 with third-degree assault and breach of peace after police received a complaint of a disturbance in a vehicle parked outside of Target. An investigation led to the arrest of Love and Harris, who are accused of assaulting each other during a dispute, police said. They were both released on a promise to appear in court Feb. 18.

Crystal Wescott, 23, of Woodland Avenue in Milford, was charged Feb. 15 with disorderly conduct after police received a complaint of a disturbance in the parking lot of the Shell gas station at 25 Bridgeport Avenue. An investigation led to the arrest of Westcott, who is accused of striking her boyfriend during a dispute, police said. She was released on a promise to appear in court on Feb. 18.
