In September and October 2012, the Milford Police Department received five complaints regarding armed robberies that occurred in the Milford area.
The suspect’s description was similar to those of other towns/cities in Connecticut were the suspect displayed a knife and demanded money from the employees.
On December 8, 2012 the Guilford Police Department had a similar robbery occur in their town. Investigators from the West Haven, Guilford and Milford Police Departments developed information which led to the apprehension of the suspect by a Guilford Detective.
The suspect was identified as Anthony Simons, age 44 of 353 Center Street, West Haven. Simons was interviewed by investigators and confessed to four robberies in the Milford area and several others in the state.
As a result, the Milford Police Department secured four arrest warrants for Simons regarding these incidents. On December 19, 2012 Milford Police Detectives arrested Simons regarding four of the arrest warrants.
Simons was charged with four counts of first degree Robbery, fourth degree Larceny, two counts of sixth degree Larceny and fourth degree Larceny.
A bond totaling $200,000 was set on Simons who is currently incarcerated regarding these incidents and others in the state of Connecticut.
An additional arrest warrant is pending for Simons.
