So you can shoot someone for being naked in your house, but if someone tries to run you over and punches you you can't throw a cell phone at them? Is there any difference between hitting someone with a car and hitting someone with a cell phone? (Note to self -- leave the cell phone in pocket, use a car -- it's more efficient and the penalty is the same.)

It does seem really ridiculous. What could a cell phone do? People are way too sensitive and it's a big stretch that deserves an arrest. Maybe the disorderly conduct part if they were really bothering their neighbors.

Shouldn't the big story here be "Woman trys to run over boyfriend with her car"?

No. The big story should be that Milford is allowing people to graduate high school without learning how to spell TRIES.

Well, regarding the recent home invasion you are referring to, the intruder did more than take off his clothes; he was allegedly biting and punching the home owner.
James Kelly August 01, 2012 at 12:26 PM
Equating the home invasion and a domestic dispute, as the initial commenter did, is ridiculous. The home intruder is an obvious threat, and was dealt with in an appropriate manner. The home owner acted accordingly, by warning the intruder numerous times, and only when threatened, fired at him. The domestic dispute is something that, most likely, shouldn't have been such large news. However, since it was, the correct headline should have mentioned the attempted assault with a motor vehicle more so than assault with a cell phone, no?

Agreed the comparison was somewhat hyperbolic, but seriously I'd have thought that both being attacked by a burglar, and being attempted to be run over, were situations where use of force was justified.
