Milford Man Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Crime

A Milford man pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography in U.S. District Court in Hartford on Tuesday, October 9th. 

According to court documents and statements made in court, on November 16th, 2011, detectives assigned to the Connecticut Computer Crimes Task Force in New Haven logged into a public available Internet file sharing program and downloaded 14 images of child pornography from a shared directory maintained by Rolan Sosa, age 36, of Milford.

On December 15th, 2011, Sosa was arrested at his residence in Milford.

Subsequent analysis of Sosa's seized laptop computer revealed 110 images and 134 video files of child pornography.

Included in Sosa's collection of child pornography were images of children under the age of 12 engaged in sexually explicitly conduct.

Forensic review also revealed that Sosa distributed child pornography images and videos through the file sharing program located on his computer.

Sentencing has been scheduled for January 3rd, 2012, at which time Sosa faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of five years, a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years, and a fine of up to $250,000.
