Milford Teens Charged for Armed Holdup on Gulf Street

Police say one of the juveniles was also wanted for car break-ins.

Three Milford juveniles were charged this week for allegedly holding up two people at gunpoint on Gulf Street over the summer.

Police said the suspects, clad in hooded shirts, approached two middle-aged adults in the area of Snug Harbor Road on July 27 about 1:30 a.m.

One of the suspects brandished a handgun during the incident in which the alleged victims were robbed of personal property that included a cell phone and wallet containing cash and credit cards, police said.

Police said the suspects that night were last seen heading northbound on Gulf Street toward New Haven Avenue. There were no reported injuries.

The suspect identified by police as “Juvenile #1,” a 17-year-old male, was charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, fifth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit fifth-larceny, criminal use of a firearm, conspiracy to commit criminal use of a firearm and second-degree threatening.

Police said “Juvenile #1” was also charged for three arrest warrants tied to several vehicle break-ins in the city in August and September this year. For those alleged incidents, he was charged with three counts of third-degree burglary and three counts of sixth-degree larceny.

“Juvenile #2,” a 16-year-old male, was charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, fifth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny, criminal use of a firearm and conspiracy to commit criminal use of a firearm.

“Juvenile #3,” a 16-year-old male, was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit criminal use of a firearm.

Police said all three suspects are scheduled to appear in juvenile court.
