Milford Drug Take-Back Day Is Saturday

Milford Prevention Council and the Milford Police are teaming up to teach citizens how to get rid of prescription drugs safely and properly.

The following is a press release from the Milford Prevention Council

HOW DO YOU CLEAN OUT YOUR MEDICINE CABINET?

and the have the perfect answer On Saturday, April 28th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, you can make room in your medicine cabinet and dispose of expired, unused or unwanted medications with a clear conscience. Don’t flush those pills down the toilet or empty the old cough syrup down the drain!

The Milford Police Department and Milford Prevention Council will team up once again to help you protect the environment by getting rid of drugs safely and properly. A Take-Back station will be set up at the parking lot, 9 Darina Place, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. You may drop off your package at this secure area staffed by Members of the Prevention Council and the Milford Police Department.

A drive-through will be available for your convenience. At the end of the day, your package, along with the others collected, will be carted to an incinerator and destroyed in an environmentally safe manner. The first Take Back Day was held on April 2011 at Walnut Beach. The Council was pleasantly surprised to receive three hundred-thirty-two pounds of unwanted medications.

Later in the year, in October, a second Take-Back day was hampered by inclement weather, but even with the impending blizzard, eighty-two pounds were received and incinerated. The Milford Prevention Council invites interested citizens to become part of the growing number of your neighbors fighting against drug and alcohol abuse in Milford.

To clarify, they have 4 cats, and they're only able to take two of them, plus their 14 year old dog.Read More It was a struggle for them to even find a way to get the dog in the rental agreement, otherwise they would have tried to take them. :(

Sad that they had to leave these beauties behind. I'm sure they are heartbroken over it.

Please contact Forgotten Felines in Clinton. They are a no kill cat shelter. Offering "free toRead More a good home" pets is dangerous. There are bad people out there who take them and sell them to research labs or use them as bait in dog fighting. Please rethink this ad.
