Milford Cops: Driver Almost Hit 2 People, Tried to Trick Police

Driver tried to hide in someone's backyard.

Milford police say Kel Prevail, 36, of Algonquin Road in Fairfield, is accused of driving at a high rate of speed and nearly struck two pedestrians in a Bridgeport Avenue parking lot. 

Police said they received a complaint regarding a vehicle driving recklessly in the parking lot of 589 Bridgeport Avenue. Investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Prevail was driving at a high rate of speed and nearly struck two pedestrians in the parking lot, police said 

The vehicle continued to drive in an unsafe manner through the parking lot and exited onto Lansdale Avenue, police said. Police located the vehicle after Prevail attempted to elude police by parking his vehicle in the backyard of a private residence on Lansdale Avenue, police said. The car was reported stolen to the West Haven Police Department.

Prevail was charged with reckless driving, simple trespass, and possession of stolen registration, and driving an unregister vehicle.
