Man Charged for Strangling Milford Woman

Alleged incident happened inside Milford woman's home.

A Waterbury man was arrested last week for allegedly strangling a Milford woman and throwing her phone as she called police.

Abel Silva, 33, is charged with second-degree strangulation, interfering with an emergency call and disorderly conduct.

The alleged incident happened Sept. 25 at the Milford woman’s home on the Boston Post Road, police said. Silva and the woman were in a relationship at the time, police said.

Silva was held in lieu of $10,000 bond and was due in court Oct. 9.
