Identity Theft in Milford by Brooklyn Man

A woman from Georgia was also involved in the alleged incident.

On June 26th at 4:00 p.m., Officer McDonnell arrested William Burkett, 34 of Brooklyn, NY, and Kimeisha Kennedy, 27 of Deluth, GA at the Sears in Milford.

Burkett and Kennedy allegedly entered and tried to buy two air conditioning units, a flat screen TV, and service contracts for the items.

Milford Police say Burkett then provided a fraudulent Texas driver's license in the name of a Sears customer and attempted to purchase the $1,238 worth of merchandise.

Burkett and Kennedy both allegedly provided Milford Police with false names during the investigation.

William Burkett has been charged with criminal impersonation, two counts of first degree identity theft, two counts of illegal use of credit card, interfering with police, fourth degree criminal attempt to commit larceny, and fourth degree conspiracy to commit larceny.

Kimeisha Kennedy was charged with interfering with police, fourth degree criminal attempt to commit larceny and fourth degree conspiracy to commit larceny.

Both Burkett and Kennedy are being held for $50,000.
