DISCUSS: Are people driving better this year, or are they just avoiding getting caught?

What was the weather like in 2012, compared to this year, that would have an effect on the accident count. What is hazardous moving? Changing lanes without a signal, etc?

I wonder if the process of texting while driving comes under the heading of Hazardous Moving. It should if it's not already.

According to CSP, hazardous moving is an umbrella category for things like cell phone violations, unsafe lane changes, etc. Good point about the weather year-over-year, CB, and its potential impact on these stats. Temps last year were around the low 40s, but I don't remember if there was any precipitation. Here's a pretty cool website where you can look up temperature history for specific dates, for free; there's a charge for more detailed reports that include wind and precipitation. http://weathersource.com/past-weather/weather-history-reports/free?gclid=CPnx1-6olLsCFSLxOgodsEwAkg
