A Seymour man was arrested on Monday, December 17th around 5:42 p.m. for allegedly making a false report of a person armed with a firearm inside the Westfield Connecticut Post Mall.

Anthony Spinelli, age 53 of Seymour, allegedly exited a restroom inside the mall and began yelling that a person inside the restroom was armed with a firearm.  Security personnel alerted a police officer who was inside the mall at the time.

Officers responded to the area accordingly and found there was no armed subject as Spinelli had previously reported.  Spinelli was located in another section of the mall where Milford Police found him in possession of an illegal knife.

Further investigation revealed that Spinelli had previously caused a disturbance at a food establishment inside the mall.  Police located Spinelli’s vehicle which contained a large knife, a wooden baton, an axe and a BB gun which were seized by investigators.

Anthony Spinelli was charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, First Degree Breach of Peace, 2nd Degree Breach of Peace and Four Counts of Weapons in a Motor Vehicle.

Spinelli is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.

Is this the same Anthony Spinnelli who once was the Seymour Patch Editor?

What exactly is an "illegal knife?"

That would be an undocumented knife, with no emigration papers.

To clarify, they have 4 cats, and they're only able to take two of them, plus their 14 year old dog.Read More It was a struggle for them to even find a way to get the dog in the rental agreement, otherwise they would have tried to take them. :(

Sad that they had to leave these beauties behind. I'm sure they are heartbroken over it.
