One way to get arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol is to almost hit a police cruiser and that is what allegedly happened to Jessica Betts, 44, of Savin Avenue in West Haven.
Milford police said an officer saw a car turn out of a driveway onto New Haven Avenue, which almost struck the officer’s vehicle.
During a vehicle stop, police found that Betts was driving while under the influence of alcohol resulting in her arrest, police said.
Betts also allegedly had an elevated blood alcohol level, police said.
She was charged with DUI, and failure to grant right of way at driveway.
She was released on a promise to appear in Superior Court, Milford on July 24.
