Cops: Wrong Way Driver Nabbed for DUI in Downtown Milford

A 23-year-old Shelton woman was arrested for DUI early Sunday after allegedly driving the wrong way down one-way sections of New Haven Avenue and River Street.

Okeri Wa’tjitenisa was charged with DUI, operating the wrong way on a one-way street and operating without a license. Police said a breathalyzer test revealed an elevated blood alcohol level.

The incident happened shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, police said.

The Shelton woman was held in lieu of $500 bond and is due in court Aug. 29.
