Cops: Woman Steals Car from Maine, Charges It at Milford Police Officer

A 59-year-old woman was arrested after Milford Police conducted a welfare check of a person possibly having a medical episode inside a parked vehicle at 1375 Boston Post Rd. 

As one of the officers was standing at the rear of the vehicle, the driver, Susan Highland, age 59 of an uncertain address, accelerated in a reckless manner, almost striking the officer as she fled the area.

Police stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Boston Post Rd. and Peck Ln. were Highland was taken into custody.

The vehicle was found to be reported stolen to police in Biddenford, Maine. A computer check revealed that Highland was operating with a suspended operator’s license.

Highland was charged with criminal attempt to assault a police office, second degree criminal attempt at assault, reckless endangerment, third degree larceny, reckless driving, engaging in pursuit, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating with a suspended license and failure to obey a traffic control signal.

She was held on $25,000 bond.
