Cops: Milford Man Lifts Former Companion Onto His Shoulder During Harassment

A Milford man was arrested after making several unwanted phone calls and text messages to a former companion, according to Milford Police.

Edward Buffington, age 24 of 1 Francis Street, Milford, allegedly located the victim at a Melba Street cafe and confronted her while she was walking on Melba Street.

Buffington is accused of blocking her path while she was walking, picking the victim up onto his shoulder and hanging up her cell phone when she attempted to contact 9-1-1 for assistance.

Buffington was charged with violation of a protective order, second degree harassment, second degree unlawful restraint, disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call.

He was held on $20,000 bail.
