Milford Man Accused of Cheating Landlord

Arrest information provided by the Milford Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Milford man is accused of swindling his landlord out of $885 by altering an invoice for plumbing services at his Benjamin Heights Drive residence.

Jeremy Kell, 29, was charged Friday with second-degree forgery and fifth-degree larceny.

Police said Kell received reimbursement in the amount of $885 after he told his landlord he paid for plumbing services at his residence.

After that exchange police said the landlord was notified from the vendor that the work still needed to be paid for in the amount of $385.

Kell was released on a promise to appear for an Oct. 16 court date.
