Cops: Man Locked Companion in Milford Motel Room

Local man faces multiple charges for alleged incident last weekend.

A Milford man was arrested on various charges Saturday night for an alleged incident in which he locked his companion in a Milford motel room, police said.

David Powell, 29, is also accused of threatening to harm an officer during his arrest at 1700 Boston Post Road, the address of the Post Motor Inn.

Police said investigation led to accusations that Powell struck his companion, locked her in the room and then did not allow her to leave.

The Milford man was charged with two counts of third-degree assault, second-degree threatening, disorderly conduct, second-degree breach of peace and first-degree unlawful restraint.

Powell was released on a promise to appear in court on Sept. 23.
