Cops: Man Fled Milford Marshalls w/ $340 Worth of Goods

A Hamden man faces theft and drug charges after police said he tried to steal $340 worth of merchandise from Marshalls in Milford.

Thomas Bernadino, 26, fled the 1413 Boston Post Road department store but was later located by police and further found in possession of heroin and related drug paraphernalia, police said.

Bernadino is charged with sixth-degree larceny, possession of a shoplifting device, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released on a promise to appear for a date in court on Jan. 28.

Do they really think a person who's in possession of heroin, and stolen merchandise will keep his promise to appear? I wonder how many promises like this are kept?
