Cops: Stolen Credit Card Shopping Spree Attempted at Target, Belden Jewelers, Lids

Arrest information provided by the Milford Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Two men were arrested for allegedly using a stolen credit card at the Target Store at the Westfield Shoppingtown Connecticut Post Mall.

Milford Police located Errol Walters, age 24 of Hamden, and Briquann Chapman, age 18 of New Haven, in the Milford mall.

Walters allegedly fled from police but was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. 

Chapter and Walters allegedly used a stolen credit card to purchase an iPad at Target valued at $499, an attempted purchase of $2,300 worth of jewelry at Belden Jewelers and another attempted purchase of $200 worth of hats at Lids Store.

Milford Police located narcotics, marijuana and a large knife inside Walter's vehicle.

The credit card used was previously reported as stolen to the Stratford Police Department.

Errol Walters was charged with two counts of sixth degree larceny, possession of a stolen credit card, use of a stolen credit card, interfering with police, weapon in a vehicle, possession of marijuana and possession of narcotics.

Chapman was charged with sixth degree larceny, two counts of conspiracy to commit sixth degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third degree larceny.

Chapman's bond was set at $15,000 for a court date of February 19th.
Walters was held on $25,000 bond.
