Cops: Duo Used Stroller to Steal from Milford Sears

New Haven residents attempted to steal nearly $700 worth of merchandise, some of which was concealed in a child's stroller, police said.

Two New Haven residents were arrested Monday for an alleged shoplifting incident at the Sears at the Westfield Connecticut Post Mall.

Police said the accused left the store without paying for about $690 worth of merchandise, some of which was concealed inside a child’s stroller.

Latasha Reed, 27, and Kia Williams, 31, are charged with fifth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny and risk of injury to a minor.

The New Haven residents were released on a promise to appear for a Oct. 8 court date.
