Cops: DUI Suspect Tried to Skip Sobriety Checkpoint

Orange man arrested for DUI early New Year's Day.

An Orange man was arrested for DUI early New Year’s Day after allegedly attempting to blow through a sobriety checkpoint on Boston Post Road.

Jerome Krevit, 66, is accused of disregarding officers’ signals to stop at the checkpoint about 2:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said Krevit proceeded to drive through the barricade before being pulled over and given a Breathalyzer test that revealed an elevated blood alcohol level.

The Orange man's bond was set at $500 and he is due in court Jan. 30.
