Milford Police are investigating an accident in which a car slammed into the house at 280 North St.

No one was home at the time of the crash — about 11 a.m. on March 21, police said. The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle. Police didn't say whether it was a man or woman; the person is being evaluated at the scene for injuries.

The Milford Building Inspector and Milford Fire Department are also assisting on the scene, while the Milford Police Traffic Division conducts its investigation.

A photograph from the scene shows that the house's foundation appears to be fractured, and the vehicle suffered heavy front end damage.

Patch will update this article with more information as it becomes available.

Was just checking out the home on Google Street View. I think the picture is the rear of the residence, facing Walnut St? If this is the right home, there is a big white fence around the yard, and the house looks like a good 20+ yards set back from the road. Assuming I'm looking at the right place, I can't even begin to comprehend how the driver hit that house.
