A Milford man was arrested early Saturday for allegedly cutting a man with a pocket knife in an altercation at an Atwater Street home.
Rean Smith, 42, was charged with second-degree assault and held in lieu of $25,000 bond.
Police said Smith’s arrest came after his alleged victim was reported to police walking on Melba Street, appearing to be bleeding.
The man told police he had an altercation with Smith that turned violent when he came at him with a pocket knife, according to the police report.
The alleged victim said he put his hands up to shield the knife and was cut in the hand, police said. The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police said they located Smith outside his home where they arrested him.
The Milford man is due in court Sept. 24.
