Three occupants of a home on Bird Lane escaped injury early Friday when fire engulfed the rear of the structure, which was ruled uninhabitable after the blaze.
Firefighters were called to 81 Bird Lane about 3:20 a.m. Friday, Capt. Kyle Brotherton said in a release.
“On arrival the first unit found a residential home with heavy fire showing from the rear,” Brotherton said. “Water supply was established and a well-coordinated aggressive interior and exterior attack began.”

All visible fire was extinguished within 15 minutes, he said. The roof was then ventilated to knock out any hidden pockets of fire.
None of the three occupants or suppression personnel reported any injuries, Brotherton said.

The home is uninhabitable as the fire marshal’s office investigates the cause of the fire, said the fire captain.
