Armed Robber Targeting Milford Hotels

Police say the suspect robbed two hotels in two days. Can you help identify him?

Milford police are looking for a suspect who they say is responsible for two armed robberies of two hotels in two days.

Shortly after 7 p.m. on Feb. 11, Milford police received a complaint of an armed robbery that occurred at the , located at 10 Rowe Ave.

Investigation revealed that a male entered the business brandishing a knife. The male walked behind the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, according to police.

Just two days later, at 10:15 p.m. on Feb. 13, police once again received a complaint of an attempted armed robbery -- this time at the Milford Lodge, located at 278 Old Gate Lane.

Investigation revealed that a male suspect entered the lodge and displayed a knife. The male repeatedly demanded money from the employee and fled the scene after an unsuccessful attempt to climb over the counter, according to .

No one was injured during these incidents, police said.

Description of the Suspect

Police said witnesses' description of the suspect in both of incidents is very similar. He is described as a black male, 5’8” – 5’10”, 30-40 years of age, of thin build. He sports a goatee with a distinguished white mark and was wearing a dark knit hat with a logo on the front of it.

Investigators from the Milford and West Haven Police departments are comparing similarities regarding the two incidents in Milford with an armed robbery at the Hampton Inn in West Haven on Feb. 5.
