Brianna Tantimonaco was busy at the filing cabinet when we went to ask Woodruff Family YMCA Executive Director, Charlie Clifford, if he could recommend a Whiz Kid to be featured on Milford Patch.
He immediately turned toward his volunteer helper and said, “Brianna is a Whiz Kid. She's a very responsible young lady...
"Her level of maturity is unusual for a person of her age. She's been a big help and we enjoy having her here."
The almost-15-year-old Brianna, about to start her sophomore year at Lauralton Hall, took a few minutes to speak, but promptly went back to work. As a volunteer, her chores are diverse, and she enjoys them all.
“I do everything from filing to making coffee,” she said.
“There are some things I’ve never done before,” she added.
Brianna is also learning for the first time how a work environment feels.
“The people here are very friendly and helpful, so I enjoy volunteering here,” she said.
According to her mother, Dina Tantimonaco, Brianna is a “very well-rounded person and a joy of a daughter. She is a dedicated student and a kind-hearted person.”
Brianna has been interested in writing and dancing since she was very young. Her goal is to be a writer. Currently, she writes fictional short stories in her spare time. When asked about her favorite subject in school, she said, “English.”
