Repurposing Harborside Middle School?

What does repurposing Harborside Middle School mean to you?

School out for summer, families and communities are busy vacationing and doing summer entertainment activities. The kids, parents, families and communities pretty much put school matters on the back burners. AFTER ALL IT’S SUMMER TIME.

AND

Harborside Middle School holds most potential for repurposing.

June 23, 2014, BOE Meeting Minutes-

“Ms. Glennon notified the Board that Mayor Blake recently suggested an option that has not yet been considered, that being PK-6. The option might keep all eight elementary schools open. West Shore and East Shore would host grades 7 and 8. Mayor Blake thinks Harborside holds the most potential for repurposing than any of the other schools and he feels that should be one consideration of any decision. There was agreement among the board to ask Milone and MacBroom to provide us with the projected enrollment configuration analysis for this option.”

Schools out for summer politicians act now while the people are busiest and the kids are not in school. This is the best time to introduce, slide through, and meet the least resistance from parents and communities.

We should never forget Politics never sleep. Politics never sleep. Politics never sleep.

Politics have taken an evil disgusting immoral turn over the years. Politics were once a chess game amongst each other but somewhere somehow the players changed. The new players in this life game of chess are, The People –vs- The Politicians and the people are the visiting team the people are at the disadvantage. Who remember when politicians were public servants and the people were the public? Have you ever asked yourself, why am I serving the politicians? Why do I pay the politician (via taxes) and I feel I work for them?

The joke, how do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is open but for the most part it was only a few politicians it pertains too. Today’s not so much a joke, when does a politician tell the truth? When their mouth is not moving.

Politicians have three actions:

One, get something done to benefit themselves.

Two, get something done for a third party that will benefit themselves.

Three, get something done to get re-elected.

---------Nothing in their playbook says get something done because it’s the right thing to do for the people or because the people implore it.

Today, when a politician says repurposing a school it means selling, renting or leasing the facility to a CHARTER SCHOOL corporation. Politicians will sell this to the community by using the national sale pitch, “Choice”, we what to offer more “Choices” to our residents.

Consider:

--Gov. Malloy and Mayor Blake are political buddies and follow the same order.

--Gov. Malloy has been given Mayor Blake many financial grants for many different things it’s payback time.

--Gov. Malloy is a proponent/great supporter of privatizing the public school system. Selling and granting charter school corporations.

--Superintendent Feser and Asst. Supt. Cummings are supporter of privatizing Milford’s Public School System and segregating the high scoring students from the students who are challenged for higher scores. This was all obvious during the Long Range Planning Committee’s “process” and the AP program is devouring the high schools and pressuring the students to participate, regardless.

--The school principals and teachers are supporters of what Dr. Feser and Mr. Cummings tell them to support, as long as it keeps them employed.

--Co-Location is a growing option for school districts. Usually this option is implemented when the communities resist full charter schools. Co-location is when a public school shares parts of a school building with a charter school corporation.

--Education is the new financial investment but the public school has to be privatized to make all available money to be spent.

--Considering trusting politicians is a sure disappointment

--Considering district leaders are not acting in the best interest of the kids, parents and communities

--Considering Malloy, Blake and Money
