Milford Fresh Air families will join Fairfield University Men's Basketball Team for Home Game!

On Sunday, December 8th, Fresh Air volunteer host families from the Southwest Coast, CT area and the New York City children they host will gather at Webster Bank Arena for the Fairfield University Men’s Basketball game against Iona College. Host families are invited to watch the pre-game warm-up, and their children and Fresh Air visitors will stand with the team during the National Anthem. There will be a table in the main concourse of the arena for prospective families to learn more about The Fresh Air Fund’s Volunteer Host Family Program and hosting a New York City child for summer 2014. Fairfield University will generously provide 12 summer scholarships for Fresh Air children to attend the Sydney Johnson Basketball Camp in summer 2014.

Volunteer host families often say they receive more from the program than they give. Host families open their homes to children who might not otherwise be able to enjoy a summer away from New York City. Fresh Air children experience simple pleasures like running barefoot through the grass and gazing at star-filled skies. Through the eyes of Fresh Air children, families often rediscover the beauty of their own communities. For more information about hosting a Fresh Air child in summer 2014, please contact Martha Mintzer at 1-203-226-6677 or The Fresh Air Fund at 1-800-367-0003.
