ANTI-CRUELTY DOG LAW PASSED
Oregonians have passed a law limiting the number of hours dogs can be tethered. This means that dogs will no longer be allowed to live out their lives at the end of a rope or chain.
A highly social animal, man's and woman's best friend deserves better than life on the end of a chain. Chained dogs are often associated with complaints of excessive barking, aggression, biting, running @ large. Long hours on a chain promote these behaviors.
Specific requirements were also passed as to what constitutes adequate shelter, etc., during the time a dog is tethered.
Let's hope that Connecticut will soon pass similar humane measures.
