Edward Steven Petrowski, Sr., age 81, longtime resident of Milford and beloved husband to Clara Kubik Petrowski, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013.

Born in Norwich, CT on April 16, 1931, he was the son of the late Frank and Sophie Jobocik Petrowski, Sr. Ed attended the Norwich Free Academy for three years and the Norwich Reg. Tech School for one year, and received his GED from the US Armed Forces Institute.

Serving with pride and honor in the US Air Force for over 38 years, Ed was activated during the Berlin Airlift of 1961, and retired from the 103rd having achieved the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Subsequently, Ed was employed with the Milford Board of Education for 11 years until his retirement.

Talented with home improvements, and very active, he loved golf, enjoyed the outdoors and was a voracious reader. Ed loved playing the accordion with his son, horses, his cat Baby and was especially interested in airplanes. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW Post 7788.

In addition to his wife, Clara of 56 years, he is survived by his cherished son, Edward Petrowski, Jr; his brothers, Frank Petrowski, Jr of NC and Robert (Judy) Petrowski of FL; his sister Judy Buchert of Jewitt City and his sister-in-law Joan (Herbert) Pearson of Gales Ferry. He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Kirchner. 

A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, January 11th at 12:00 pm with the Reverend Father Maurice Maroney presiding at the Cody-White Funeral Home. Full Military honors will be held immediately following. Committal will be private.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, January 10th from 4 to 7 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
