Obituary: Sybil Frances Hyde, age 98

Sybil's love of music included playing the banjo and piano, led to her teach to ballroom dancing with her husband at the Milford Yacht Club.

 

Sybil Frances Hyde passed away at home on Thursday, October 11, 2012.

One of eight children, she was born on October 2, 1914 to the late Walter and Agnes Kosinsky of Middletown. A devoted mother, wife and grandmother, she was predeceased by her loving of husband of over sixty years, Warren Hyde. Before retiring, she was employed as a secretary for SNET.

She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her loving, caring and gracious ways. Her love of music included playing the banjo and piano, led to her teach to ballroom dancing with her husband at the Milford Yacht Club.

Members of the Club for many years because of their love of sailing, they donated their boat to support sailing education there. Along with Warren, they planted a large garden which produced enough vegetables to last the winter season.

Full of energy, she was still mowing the lawn on a tractor in her 90’s, along with being an avid e-reader and solving crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Hyde is survived by her daughters Dorothy Hyde of Northport, Long Island, Carole Tirozzi and her husband Nicholas of North Haven, and Susan Hyde-Wick and her husband John Wick of Woodbury, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Orange Congregational Church, 205 Meeting House Lane, Orange, CT at 4pm. Interment will be private.

Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405 or the charity of one’s choice.

Sad that their owners didn't keep searching until they found a house that would accept two cats. IRead More hope they find good homes.

To clarify, they have 4 cats, and they're only able to take two of them, plus their 14 year old dog.Read More It was a struggle for them to even find a way to get the dog in the rental agreement, otherwise they would have tried to take them. :(

Sad that they had to leave these beauties behind. I'm sure they are heartbroken over it.
