Obituary: Scott Leslie Lapham

Scott Leslie Lapham, age 62, of Milford, passed away suddenly doing what he loved, playing underwater hockey from a heart attack.

A lifelong Milford resident, he was born on August 29, 1951 to the late Bernard and Shirley (Graham) Lapham. He graduated from Great New Haven Technical College and proudly served in the U S Navy on the USS Enterprise during the Vietnam era.

Scott played life to the fullest with his many interest in sports such as; golfing, fishing, camping and skiing.

Before retiring, he was employed as a test engineer.

Mr. Lapham is survived by his devoted wife Anne Callahan Lapham, dedicated children Graham Michael Lapham and his wife Katie and Sarah Stanley and her husband Mark all of Milford, sisters Joan Lance and her husband Dale of Ecuador, Susan Sogga and her husband Rod of North Carolina, Wendy Ferencz and her husband Paul of Trumbull, his cherished granddaughter Riley, grandsons “Poppie’s Boys”; Thomas, Scott, Jackson and Cooper, he is also survived by his mother-in-law Norma Callahan and sister-in-law Susan Lapham both of Milford and many loving nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a brother Thomas Lapham.

Calling hours are Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N Broad St., Milford, from 4pm to 6:30pm with a funeral service following the calling hours. Interment will be private.
