Obituary: Sandra O'Donnell Volpe, age 74

Sandra was an avid gardener and loved to travel. Always warm, kind and caring, she will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

 

Sandra O’Donnell Volpe, age 74, lifelong resident of Milford, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Milford Hospital after a long illness.

Born on March 12, 1938 in Milford, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Elizabeth Lundy O’Donnell. Prior to her retirement, Sandra was employed for thirty years with Bic Pen.

A loving mother and grandmother, Sandra was devoted to her family and her greatest joy was spending time with them. She was an avid gardener and loved to travel. Always warm, kind and caring, Sandra will be sadly missed by her family and friends. 

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Volpe, her children; Colleen Berry and her husband Kevin, Sally Ferro, Theresa Ende and her husband Michael, Lisa Volpe and Ralph Volpe, Jr. all of Milford and five cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Brittany, Alexandra, Christopher and Jake. She is also survived by her siblings, Joan Burke of FL., Nora Flynn and Patrick O’Donnell and his wife Ruth all of Milford.

She was predeceased by her son, Salvatore Ferro, Jr. and her siblings, Thomas, John, Hugh, James, Frank, Bert, William O’ Donnell and Theresa Farmer, Kathleen Ourfalian and MaryJane Rogers. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 6th at 10:30 am St. Gabriel’s Church, 26 Broadway, Milford, CT., 06460. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Milford.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday, February 5th from 4 to 8 pm at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460 from 4-8 P.M.
