Obituary: Rose Marie Chipello D'Auria, age 95

A devoted, loving and kind wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Rose will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

 

Rose Marie Chipello D’Auria, age 95, longtime resident of Milford, and beloved wife to John A. D’Auria, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Milford Health Care.

Born in Palmer, MA on March 4, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Paolo and Angela Villa Chipello. She loved hosting Christmas Eve for her family for over 50 years. Rose was an avid bingo player who loved to crochet, bake, and travel to Florida and Italy.

Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rosie was one of the original employees when Alexander’s Department Store opened and was still in the blouse department when the store closed 25 years later. A devoted, loving and kind wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be sadly missed by her family and friends. 

In addition to her husband John of 66 ½ years, she is survived by her son, John J. D’Auria and his wife Jaclyn of Orange; her daughter, Denise G. Odell and her husband John of Berlin; her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer R. Broderick of Bristol, Michael C. D’Auria of Queens, NY, Stephanie J. Bolstridge of Portland, Robert C. D’Auria of Milford, Matthew J. Odell of Enfield, Kathryn C. D’Auria of Orange and cherished great grandchildren, Lucas J. and Timothy J. Bolstridge of Portland.

She was predeceased by a great granddaughter Allison Rose Bolstridge and her brothers, Paul, Angelo and Anthony Chipello and her sisters, Carmella Buonocore, Mary Chipello, Josephine Hatrick, Theresa Esposito and Christine Marino. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 15th at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the Redeemer Church, 325 Oronoque Rd., Milford. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Friends and family may call on Friday, December 14th from 3 to 7 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
