Obituary: Robert Colin Zielinski, 26

Mr. Zielinski, a former Milford resident, served in the Army National Guard Infantry in Afghanistan.

Robert Colin Zielinski, age 26, formerly of Milford and Oxford, recently purchased his first home in Waterbury with his beloved fiancé Lea Bernstein and their cherished unborn child, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 in Waterbury.

Born in Kissimmee, Fla., on August 28, 1986, he was the son of Glenn and Colleen Henley Zielinski. Rob served with great pride and honor in the Army National Guard Infantry in Afghanistan. He was the owner of Zielinski Moving and Delivery and currently was attending Naugatuck Valley Community College.


Always eager to learn, he was an avid history and military enthusiast, he had a love of antiques and a passion for animals. Rob was a loving son, brother and nephew, his greatest passion was spending time with his family and fiancé, whom he loved deeply. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Colleen and Glenn and fiancé, Lea, he is survived by his brother Curt Zielinski of Watertown, maternal grandfather, James T. Henley and paternal grandparents, William and Dorothy Zielinski. He is also survived by his aunts, Michelé Von Schmidt, Robyn Zielinski, uncles, Patrick T. Henley, James O. Henley, Owen S. Henley, Gary W. Zielinski and many loving cousins.
