Obituary: Richard William Hubbell, age 78

Richard William Hubbell, age 78, longtime resident of Milford and beloved husband to Carol Porter Hubbell, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at home. 

Born in Bridgeport on November 2, 1933, he was the son of the late George T. and Mildred Pierce Hubbell. Richard served with pride and honor in the US Army, in the Chemical Core, during the Korean War.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Rex Oil Co. for 14 years and Connecticut Refinery for 10 years. A devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather, Richard will be greatly missed. 

In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by his children, Dawn Meraviglia (James), Carolann Chevett (William), Susan Pitre (William), and Thomas Hubbell all of Milford, Richard W. Hubbell, Jr. of North Haven; siblings, Reverend George T. Hubbell of Largo, FL, Joan Long of Deer Park, WA, Mae Hultin of E. Letavket, NY, and Linda Tocher of Atco, NJ; twelve grandchildren, Sandra, Michael, Bryan, Kristi, Kimberly, Billy, Michelle, Patrick, Elizabeth, Dawn, Amanda, and Liana; one great-grandson Derek, and many nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his step-mother Jean Hubbell.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the followed by interment at King’ Highway Cemetery, Milford. 

Friends and family may call on Wednesday, August 15th from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3405.
