Norman Melanson, 71, peacefully passed Saturday, March 1, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.
Formerly of Milford and Wallingford, Conn., he moved to Sunset Beach, N.C., for his retirement.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Lea Melanson; his brothers, Romeo and Roland Melanson; along with sisters, Leatrice Liposky and Lucille Melanson.
Norman is survived by his wife, Betsy; along with his children, Chris Melanson, Cindi Burton, Debbie and her husband, Joe Verrilli, and Matthew Melanson. He is also survived by his brother, Frank; and sister-in-law, Pat Melanson; his sister, Mary Ann and her husband, Peter Della Rocco; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Norman's family will be holding a memorial service Mass on Saturday, May 24, at 1 p.m., at Saint Joseph's Parish, 50 Fairmont Place, Shelton.
