Obituary: Nicholas C. Testa, Sr., age 86

Nicholas was a longtime parishioner of the United Church of Christ in Devon and was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America for 40 years.

 

Nicholas C. Testa, Sr., age 86, of New Haven, and formerly of Milford, beloved husband of the late Ethel Powers Testa, died on Sunday, March 24th.  

Nicholas was born in Bridgeport, CT on January 8, 1927 to the late Aniello and Anna Catulo Testa.  Nicholas proudly served our county in the Navy during WWII. After the war, he worked at CT Light and Power Company in building maintenance.

He was a longtime parishioner of the United Church of Christ in Devon and was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America for 40 years.  Nicholas was a member of the VFW Post #7788 and was an avid Bingo player.  

Survivors include his children: Nicholas C. Testa Jr. (Jean) of SC, Timothy Testa (Carmen) of Bridgeport, Donna Gaines (Alvin) of FL, Marybeth Brown (Steve) of Naugatuck and Laura Litvinoff (Leonard) of Milford, sister's; Marion Paternoster of Fairfield, Dorothy Loper of Bridgeport, 10 grandchildren: Todd Testa (Jamie), Tami Testa, Michael Gaines (Shirley), Jennifer Gaines, Amanda Testa, Daniel Clinton, Laura Testa, Sandra Archuleta (Jose), Adam Litvinoff (Mae) and Eric Litvinoff (Anna), 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Nicholas is pre-deceased by his son, Neil Testa and by a sister, Jane Ferenz.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Christ, 30 Ormond Street, Milford, CT.
