Obituary: Michael Kevin Kanoff, age 32

Michael Kevin Kanoff, age 32, lifelong resident of Milford, died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice on April 5, 2013. Son of Kevin E. and Clare Palmer Kanoff , he was born on August 15, 1980 in New Haven. Michael graduated from Joseph A. Foran High School and then received a Bachelor’s degree from York College of PA. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandmother Ann Piontek Kanoff, his sister Kelly (Eric Golden), his niece and nephew Savannah and Troy Golden, as well as his fiancé Brooke DeHart and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will all miss him dearly.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents George H. and Frances O’Hara Palmer, his paternal grandfather Edmund A. Kanoff and his Uncle Thomas Kanoff. 

The family would like to thank all the counselors who worked with Michael and the staff at Hospice for treating him with such compassion and dignity. Thanks to the entire staff of Yale New Haven Hospital who cared for Michael with compassion and respect especially the people of MICU9, MICU10 and 9 west who truly perform miracles daily. Finally to Dr. Sofia Simona Jakab, Michael’s angel, who stayed with him every step of his journey, until his miracles ran out. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Avenue, Milford CT 06460. (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH).

Committal will immediately follow at Saint Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Avenue, West Haven, CT 06516. Friends and family may call on Thursday, April 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford CT.
