Obituary: Leon Thomas Volpe, age 72

A wake will be held Friday August 17, 2012 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home

 

Leon (Dodie) Thomas Volpe, age 72, of Milford, passed away on Monday August 13, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. 

He was the beloved husband of Beatrice Vivian Hunt Volpe. Leon was born on December 21, 1939 in Bridgeport to the late Richard and Theresa Mansi Volpe. He proudly served in the US Army during Vietnam. 

Before retiring, he was employed as a screw machine operator for Bic Pen. Dodie was an avid sportsman and enjoyed racquetball, bowling, baseball, camping and golf.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving children Nicholas Barra (Tracy) of Milford, Randy (Amanda) Barra of West Haven, Dawn (Mike) Cooper of Milford, Frances (Mike) Vrabel of Naugatuck, Robert Volpe of West Haven and Susan (Don) Wyatt also of West Haven, brothers Ralph Volpe of Milford, Richard Volpe of New Haven, sisters Elaine Volpe & Esther Volpe Dimartino both of East Haven, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and his beloved dog spunky. 

A wake will be held Friday August 17, 2012 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the , 135 N. Broad St., Milford. 

Prayer Service will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow in St Mary Cemetery Milford.

To clarify, they have 4 cats, and they're only able to take two of them, plus their 14 year old dog.Read More It was a struggle for them to even find a way to get the dog in the rental agreement, otherwise they would have tried to take them. :(

Sad that they had to leave these beauties behind. I'm sure they are heartbroken over it.

Please contact Forgotten Felines in Clinton. They are a no kill cat shelter. Offering "free toRead More a good home" pets is dangerous. There are bad people out there who take them and sell them to research labs or use them as bait in dog fighting. Please rethink this ad.
