Obituary: Joseph Mirmina, 84

Joseph was active in the Cub Scout Program, having been a cub master and long-time member of the Program Committee for the Wepawaug Valley District of Connecticut Yankee Council.

Joseph C. Mirmina, 84, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Ella Mae Jones, died peacefully at home on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013.

Born in New Britain, Conn., on Dec. 8, 1928, he was the son of the late Paul C. and Angelina Mirmina.

Joseph was the chief purchasing agent for the Robertshaw Control Company until his retirement in 1988. He was a musician and was the drummer for the Emerald Room in Milford until its closing.

Joseph was active in the Cub Scout Program, having been a cub master and long-time member of the Program Committee for the Wepawaug Valley District of Connecticut Yankee Council. 

Joseph is survived by his two daughters Angela Town (Christopher) of Guilford, Paula Kranyak (Dale Demirjian) of Milford, his son Joseph Mirmina (Ann Marie) of Milford, seven grandchildren, Michael Graham (Kelley), Paula Wilson (Tom), Jay Kranyak (Meghan), Stephen Town (Stefanie), Katie Graham, Jill Brennan (Sean), Valerie Town, Joseph Mirmina (Kelly) and Jessica Mirmina, 14 great grandchildren; Christopher, Tyler and Ryan Rogers, Hayley and Emiley Wilson, Ella and Liam Graham, Jake and Jocelyn Brennan, Cecelia, Nora, Hunter and Harper Kranyak, and Fiona Town.

He is also survived by his brothers, Andrew (Dottie), Paul (Barbara), Michael Anthony (Peggy) and Robert (Paula) and his sister Pam Bowers (Bill) and their respective spouses and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Saint Gabriel Church 26 Broadway, Milford, CT 06460.
