John Anthony Furanna Jr., age 97, of Milford, passed away on Wednesday September 5, 2012 in CT Hospice, beloved husband of the late Lucille M. McKie Furanna.
He was born on April 18, 1915, in Naugatuck, CT to the late John A. and Margaret Mangini Furanna Sr. John was a WW II Army Veteran and worked as a Metallurgist for Bridgeport Brass and retired in 1978.
He was a member of Ansantawae Lodge #89 of Milford, a Deacon of the First United Church of Christ Milford, the Wepawaug Rifle Club and was formerly active with the Milford Boy Scouts.
Mr. Furanna is survived by his devoted children Richard “Dick” (Peggy) Furanna of Milford, Donna Downes of Berkley, MI., Deborah (Kenneth) Patenaude of Milford and Laurie (Rich) Badick of Sandy Hook, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife Florence Rogg and sister Eleanor Furanna.
