Obituary: Irene Olsen, age 100, of Milford

Irene Olsen, age 100, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Stanley W. Olsen, died on Monday, December 31, 2012.  

Mrs. Olsen was born in Hartford, CT on April 30, 1912 to the late Mr. Louis Blanchette and Mrs. Clara Blanchette Greenwood. Irene was a Milford resident for 80 years and was extremely active in the community. She was a secretary at Airway Motors and later worked at the Milford Senior Citizens Center for over 20 years.

Mrs. Olsen was also a past President of the St Ann's Ladies Guild. Survivors include her son; Paul A. Olsen and his wife Joan of Myrtle Beach, SC and her granddaughter, Kristin Olsen of SC. Mrs. Olsen was pre-deceased by her grandson, Erik Olsen.

Friends may call on Thursday evening from 4-7PM at The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial DIRECTLY in St Ann Church, Milford on Friday morning at 9:30AM.

Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Milford Senior Citizens Center, 9 Jepson Drive, Milford, CT, 06460 in Mrs. Olsen's memory.
