Obituary: Helen Racz, 89

Funeral services will be held Monday.

Helen Krenitski Racz age 89 of Milford beloved wife of the late Joseph Racz passed away peacefully on July 31, 2013 in St. Vincent’s Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

Helen was born in Warrior Run, Pa. on January 26, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Vladimir and Mary Mosley Krenitski.

She was employed by General Electric as an assembler for over 25 years and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. Helen was an avid parishioner of Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, a diehard New York Yankees fan and also enjoyed visiting the casino, cooking, baking and especially family gatherings.

Helen is survived by her daughter Kathryn Gentile of Shelton, two sons Joseph Racz and wife Rebecca of Hampstead, N.H. and Carl Racz of Milford, five grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew, Kristin, Joseph and Joshua, devoted friend Veronica (Ronnie) Scalzi and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband Joseph, Helen was also predeceased by three brothers John, Michael and Joseph and two sisters Mary Mikitka and Irene Shimko. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday August 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. directly in Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 100 St. John’s Drive, Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery Monroe. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main St., Stratford on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m.
