Obituary: Helen Cameron Minnick, age 89

Helen wrote poetry, designed murals and loved to write letters to friends and family around the country. She was a dedicated wife to her husband of more than 60 years and a devoted mother to her children.

 

Helen Cameron Minnick, born Elena Cecilia Camarano, age 89, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Roy W. Minnick, died peacefully in her own bed, in the house she called home for 65 years. Her devoted daughters were at her side.

Helen was born on January 31, 1923 to the late Biaggio Camarano and Josephine Chirico Camarano. She was a long-time Milford resident and worked at American Fabrics and Remington Arms. She was an avid, talented knitter who created original works of vibrant colors and beauty.

Survivors include her two daughters; Dianna Minnick of Guilford and Carol Brouillette of Milford, formerly of Las Vegas; one brother, Frank Cameron, and three sisters, Margaret Scallion, Ann Tomi and Victoria Harris; two grandchildren; Deanna Coluccio (John) and Carrie Hensley (Jeff) both of Las Vegas, and three great grandchildren.

Helen is pre-deceased by her son-in-law; Carl Brouillette; three brothers: Bucky, Maurice and Anthony and four sisters, Millie, Nicolina and Rose.
