Obituary: Edward T. "Ed" McMahon, 49, of Cromwell

Edward T. "Ed" McMahon, 49, of Cromwell, passed away unexpectedly July 7, 2014.

Ed was born in Milford on August 24, 1964. He was educated in the Milford school system and worked as a laborer for General Construction companies for 30 years. 

Ed enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping. He was also actively involved in several charitable organizations. Ed is survived by his wife, Linda Petersen; stepsons, Rocco Panarelli from Fla., Marcus Panarelli from Mass.; siblings, Teresa Shea from Clinton, Conn., John McMahon from Mass., Janet Sweeten and her husband Karl from Colchester, Conn., Carol Wirta and her husband Paul from Weymouth, Mass., Michael McMahon and his wife Mary Ann from Higganum, Conn., and Kevin and his wife Kristine of Killingworth, Conn.

Edward is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul E. McMahon, his mother, Agnes M. McMahon, and bother, James P. McMahon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in memory of Edward to St. Vincent de Paul, P.O. Box 398, Middletown, CT 06457.

A graveside service will take place July 26, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery, Horse Hill Road, Westbrook.
