Michael Paul Kirmaier, Hockey Coach for the Milford Southern Stars, dies at age 55

Mike was a graduate of Jonathan Law High School in Milford and earned his Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of New Haven. Mike was an electronic engineer for Image Graphics, Inc.

 

Michael Paul Kirmaier, age 55, of Milford passed away on January 27, 2013 after a long courageous battle with brain cancer.

He was the beloved husband of twenty-five years to Colleen Corarito Kirmaier and the loving father of Paul Kirmaier.

Other survivors include his mother Anne Mitterneder Kirmaier, brothers Raymond and William Kirmaier, his sister Susan Kirmaier Sage, brother-in-law, Daniel Sage, nephew Ryan Sage and nieces, Stephanie, Kathryn and Olivia Sage, and his faithful loving companion dog, Cooper. He was predeceased by his father Siegfried Kirmaier. 

Mike was a graduate of Jonathan Law High School in Milford and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of New Haven. Mike was an electronic engineer for Image Graphics, Inc.

Mike grew up in Milford and was a lifelong resident. His love for Long Island Sound included Windsurfing, Hobie Cat sailing, boating and fishing. He also enjoyed playing golf. 

Mike was a Youth Hockey Coach for the Milford Southern Stars, helping to lead the Pee-Wee team to the State Championship in 2004. Mike was a man who gave freely of himself to others and loved his family dearly. 

The family would like to extend their thanks to the Visiting Nurse Services of Connecticut, Trumbull office, for their help during a most difficult time. In addition, many thanks to the caring staff at The Connecticut Hospice Hospital in Branford. You all made it so much easier for us. 

The hours of visitation will take place Wednesday, January 30th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Cody White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT. 06460.

A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, January 31st at 9:30 am at the Cody-White Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 70 Gulf Street, Milford, CT.

Interment will take place at Kings Highway Cemetery, Cherry Street, Milford, on Saturday February 2nd, 2013 at 10:30 a.m.
