Mary Susan Zinn, active in the PTA and Girl Scouts, dies at age 60

Susan was a warm, caring woman who loved her family and close friends.

 

Mary Susan Zinn, formerly of Milford passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2013 with her loving husband, Harry, by her side. Susan was the daughter of the late Edward Norkaitis and Ruth Kostenko and survived by her stepfather, Joseph Kostenko.

Susan was a warm, caring woman who loved her family and close friends. She was a stay at home mom when her kids were young and was very active in the PTA and Girl Scouts.

She went back to school and graduated with an accounting degree and became a CPA. She had a successful 20 year career in business. Susan enjoyed community activities with the West Haven Junior Women’s Club and scrapbooking with her cousins. 

In addition to her husband, Harry, Susan leaves behind two loving daughters, Jennifer (Joe) Thurston and Melanie Zinn. She leaves four beautiful granddaughters who hold a special place in her heart; Kaitlin, Isabella, Olivia and Abigail. She was predeceased by her brother Edward Norkaitis, survived by siblings Kathy (Rich) Szyja, Jeffrey Kostenko, Paulette Lorette and Bo Kostenko. She leaves a niece, nephews, and a dear brother-in-law, close friends and much beloved family in New Hersey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 10 at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, 501 Naugatuck Ave, Milford, CT 0640 with Father Mark Jette officiating.

Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Thursday, May 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
