Frederick L. Moffett, of CT State Police, dies at 83

Fred, a longtime resident of Milford, spent most of his career employed with the CT State Police Department where he retired as a Lieutenant in the Fire Marshall Division.

 

Frederick L. Moffet, age 83, longtime resident of Milford and beloved husband to the late Evelyn Coddington Moffet, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Milford Hospital.

Born in Bridgeport on September 16, 1929 to the late Anna Yuckienuz Moffet; Fred was a graduate of Harding High School. He was his employed as an inspector at Singers and Fred spent most of his career employed with the CT State Police Department where he retired as a Lieutenant in the Fire Marshall Division.

After retiring, he started his own business “Fred Moffet Fire Investigations” He enjoyed many hobbies including TV repair, AC and refrigeration repair and genealogy. A wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle his warmth and love will be greatly missed by his family and friends. 

He is survived by his daughters, Diane Gilbert and her husband Harry III of Milford, Joyce Attianese and her husband Roger of Bridgeport, Maureen Reeve and her husband Dana of WI and Carolyn Butler of Milford; ten cherished grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister; Mildred Glynn of Shelton and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Robert, William and John Moffet and his son-in-law Franklin Butler III.
